New Find: Ernst Benz

On a trip to the John Varvato’s store (aka the old CBGB), we stumbled upon Ernst Benz, a Swiss luxury timepiece company.  We looked at the Mario Batali (yes, the chef) designed watch.  Priced around ~$6,000, this watch is limited to 250 pieces per size.  The watch comes in 3 sizes (which are shown above): 36mm, 40mm, and 47mm.  You can purchase them at any of Mario’s 11 restaurants, or the John Varvato’s store on Bowery.  15% of sales from these watches go to the Food Bank of New York…but we doubt you can write off this purchase when filing taxes.

Brother Jimmy’s Starting a New Trend in Murray Hill?

Brother Jimmy’s, the successful wing and beer spot opens its newest location tonight in Murray Hill on 31st and Lexington. Is Murray Hill turning into a great sports-bar neighborhood? One of Tonic’s locations is just a few blocks away on 29th/3rd…and we have been hearing about a new sports-bar called “The Hill” that might be replacing Dip in the coming months. Anyway, the flyer below explains what you need to know if you want to go to Brother Jimmy’s tonight.

almost Starts Today

A new exhibit exclusively featuring Ryan James Macfarland called “almost,” will be having its opening reception tonight from 6 P.M. – 9 P.M. @ the Merge Gallery.  Normally we go to art galleries hoping for an open bar or some alcohol sponsor to be there; however, we don’t know if one will be there tonight, so go to appreciate the artist’s work, not for free early drinks.  Afterparty @ Retreat if interested with open bar options from 10-12 – email mike@amnightlife.com if interested in attending Retreat.
