Infrared’s Are Back!!

Infrared's from OverKill

Infrared's from OverKill

Perhaps the most recognizable Air Max 90 colorway among sneaker-heads is the “Infrared,” which is coming back into stock July 25th.  We never bought them when they first launched and have been mad ever since.  We’ve even come across some pairs in a few sneaker boutiques with price tags upwards of $350; now for $215.95 you can get them when they drop from OverKill.  We do not think all Quickstrike locations will receive these, but if you come across them somewhere in Manhattan, let us know!!

This is kind of sad, but we can see this happening in Manhattan sometime soon…just read Firefighters Turned Away From Exclusive Nightclub Blaze

Our Review: Delicatessen

July 22, 2008

In the area about 2 hours ago, we decided to stop and eat in Delicatessen.

The space is decorated as well as can be and met all our expectations. The bathrooms are somewhat hidden inside the downstairs walls. Of course everybody has seen the lounge downstairs (you know, with the green couches), but there also is a private lounge w. a service bar which was very dimly lit today.

The staff was great, friendly and good looking…and we wouldn’t expect it anyway else from the Cafeteria guys.

On to the food, we ordered the Halibut Tacos to start and recommend you do too! They were amazing and not fishy tasting. Then we tried their Cobb salad, which was one of the best Cobb salads we’ve ever had (with avocado, bacon, Gorgonzola, and chicken) as well as the Chicken Bucket. The Chicken was fried to perfection and came with a great side of cole slaw.

Here are a few pictures we took from our cell phone camera earlier.

The Eldridge Set To Open Soon?

The Eldridge from NYMag

Matt Levine’s new hotspot, “The Eldridge” (formerly Luv 24/7) has a planned opening for Sunday, July 27th. The new space on 247 Eldridge St. is only 1,000 square feet, but is said to hold 150 people; we don’t know if you know what 1,000 square feet looks like but if it is in fact that size, it will hold around 100 people comfortably and less legally, although you don’t really have to worry about being comfortable when inside because unless you know Matt Levine or their doorman Naaem (from Artwing/GoaG), you probably aren’t getting in. Also, we know The Eldridge was still looking for a staff only 2 weeks ago, so unless everybody is hired and trained flawlessly (especially the bartenders, or butlers as they will be called), the opening might be delayed a little bit. In any event, whenever they open, we wish them the best of luck.

John Varvatos Sale!!

July 22, 2008
John Varvatos from High Snobiety

John Varvatos from High Snobiety

John Varvatos is reducing its men’s spring/summer collection by 70%. This is technically a friends and family sale, so we can’t guarantee they actually give you the reduced price – but at 70% off, you better believe we’re going to try. Sale runs from Tuesday-Thursday in both Varvatos locations (122 Spring St. btwn Green and Mercer or on 315 Bowery btwn 1st and 2nd St). If you get there before us, leave us a comment and let us know if you got the 70% off. [Racked]

Update #1: We stopped by the Varvatos Bowery location earlier and took a look at their friends and family sale which anybody can take advantage of – Racked was a little misinformed.  Men’s spring/summer collection were reduced 30-70% off – most items were 50% off (and for most, still too expensive).  They had a lot of blazers in small sizes and jeans on sale.  Still worth a stop in to look.
